Blog Post #3: Gretta Stahl
Terms I discussed: Strength: Leadership. In my words, a leader makes sure that the project gets done. I’ve noticed that without a leader, the project starts to fall apart. A leader doesn’t do all of the work, but they make sure people get their part done. An example of this is last year, for a project, I knew my group wouldn’t get a lot done if no one told them to. Strength: Initiative. To take initiative is kind of like being a leader. Someone who takes initiative makes sure everyone is on task. Anyone can take initiative if they feel the need to. If a leader gets off task, anyone in the group can take initiative and redirect. An example of this is when I am absent, I can still work and make sure everything gets done. Weakness: Flexibility. One thing I struggle with in group projects is flexibility. To me, this means making sure everything works if something fails. I like having a set plan and sticking to it. If the plan changes, I panick. One example of this is last year, when half of my group didn’t show up for a presentation, we had to rewrite their notecards and we didn’t have a backup plan. I will improve by having a backup plan just in case one fails. Weakness: Adaptability. Adaptability to me means getting to know the habits of your group. If someone tends to be absent, it is making sure they can still do their part. If someone doesn’t do their part, it is making sure they face the consequence. I feel that I tend to be too easy on people if they haven’t done their work. If someone doesn’t do their work, I will make sure that it gets done and that everyone else doesn’t face the consequences.

Blog Post #2: Gretta Stahl What do you wish to see happen with this project? With this project, I believe it’s important to show our work, but also in a fun way. That’s why I think the last room with all of our masks in it is a good idea. I would also like to see people being interactive with the exhibit, not bored. If we put so much time into this exhibition, it should be enjoyable. What would you like to hear a parent say about the exhibition? How about a Sociology professor? I would like a parent to comment on how nice the exhibition was and how much time we put into it. Maybe they would give us feedback on how they interacted with the exhibition. I would like a Sociology professor to ask questions and give us feedback on our knowledge. How do we make sure that we are presenting accurate information to our audience? To make sure we are presenting accurate information, we need to double check our information and our sources. We can also ask a professional if our information is correct and if our sources are reliable. A professional might say something different than a website. We should trust the professional.
